The Sony HDR-XR520 (240GB), along with its sibling camcorder the HDR-XR500 (120GB) are the Sony's latest
generation AVCHD camcorders recording to hard disk drive (HDD).
The new back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor is designed to let you shoot video in lower lighting
conditions with better results. Combine that with a huge hard drive capacity storing up to 96 hours of high definition footage,
and the convenience of AVCHD 'drag-n-drop' file transfer and you have the underwater shooters dream camera!

underwater HD video to divers everywhere. Now with a new tilt screen HD monitor back the Seatool XR520 is easier to shoot
than any video housing in Seatool history.
This upgraded version of the hugely popular Seatool SR12 Monitor Back Housing features and integrated tilt screen 16:9 wide angle monitor (.23MP) with the highest pixel density available for underwater video! Combine this with access to the camera touch panel for access to the 'one touch white balance' controls makes this one super housing!

Like previous Seatool video housings, the XR500/XR520 underwater housing for the Sony HDV Handycam HDR-XR500/XR520 is machined from pure,
solid blocks of aircraft grade
aluminum and polycarbonate. The end result of this meticulous attention to detail is one of the smallest, lightest
underwater video housings ever produced.
 This housing features rugged aluminum construction yet only weighs 2kg. Small and light enough to hand carry on aircraft, it's the perfect tool for the travelling diver faced with strict airline weight restrictions. Because the housing body conforms so closely to the camera, the housing attains nearly neutral buoyancy (slightly negative) for effortless underwaterhandling handling.  |
The grip angle can be adjusted between three positions to adapt to any diving style or shooting situation.

The thoughtful design enables setting the grip in the horizontal position, making a nice trim, compact package,
when transporting. All controls are easily accessed while holding the grip which makes steady, stable footage a snap.

To complement our multi-coated glass lens, our New 'ST' bayonet lens mount accepts the 15mm wide angle lens from Fisheye, and adapts the popular 67mm threaded mount lenses from Inon, Epoque, and Ikelte to a quick mount/release bayonet fitting which can be mounted to and removed from the housing (while underwater) with just a twist of the wrist. Choose from underwater mountable fisheye, 100-degree wide angle or close-up lenses, to match any imaging situation.
The multi-coated optical glass port is optically superior, controls flare, and resists scratching.
The XR500/XR520 housing features a multi-purpose accessory shoe on top of the housing. Add an optional FIX Rotary Hot Shoe Base, and a FIX Light, for an easy to handle, compact lighting system.
The recording indicator and leak sensor lamp are easily visible on remote control panel, protecting against unintentional recording or informing you immediately of water leakage.
The HDR-XR520 and HDR-XR500 Cam Control dial controls the following functions, all in a press and a turn:
